it’s the creative hub of culinary lines from all over the world that have marked his career. Barbara Fairchild of Bon Appetit has called him “one of the few chefs today who actually seems to be having fun in the kitchen.”


Speaker: Mary E. Colin, Owner of South Bay Management Services, LLC is a lifelong resident of the South Bay attending Jefferson Elementary, Hill crest Jr. High school in Redondo Beach and Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, graduating in the Bicentennial year of our Country. Mary attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 1980 Cum Laude in School of Public Administration with a BS in Public Affairs. Prior to graduation, Mary interned in the Office of Congressional Affairs of the Drug Enforcement Agency realizing public sector was not meant to be, returning to USC for final year with emphasis on business courses. She then attended Law School at the Arizona State University for a year and a half; returning to California joining the commercial real estate company of Charles Dunn Company in 1982 as their administrative assistant in the Appraisal Department run by Thomas Kneafsey. A year later she was promoted to office manager of the brokerage department and supervisor to four satellite office managers in San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica, Orange County and Santa Barbara. In 1992, she joined the Torrance based, Bayco Financial Corporation, a residential and commercial property management company, managing over 1,000 residential units, in addi tion to the Skypark Medical and Office Center, Madison Retail Center and Madison Medical Building. Mary was named as Bayco Vice President of operations from 1994 through 2000. South Bay Management Services Mary founded on December 1, 2001, but because of 9/11 terrorist attack uncertain days were ahead. They had zero clients but a great deal of confidence that our Nation would bounce back, and they would prosper. In the weeks ahead they reached their goal of obtaining one new client each month. In 2016, her 1982 boss, Tom, became their client. Today, they consider themselves a boutique-like property management operation focusing on personal service in their South Bay community.
